The first live NBA action of the week arrives on the morning of Friday 23 February, as the Golden State Warriors welcome the Los Angeles Lakers to San Francisco.

The Warriors have struggled for consistency, with even the brilliance of Stephen Curry sometimes not enough to get them over the line – such as when he put up 60 points against the Atlanta Hawks earlier this month but still found himself on the losing side.

"It's frustrating, obviously, not coming away with the win knowing a couple plays here, a couple plays there could have been a different outcome. It just adds to our frustrating season," said Curry.

The weekend features two games with the Milwaukee Bucks: on the morning of Saturday 24 February they battle away to the Minnesota Timberwolves, before the evening of Sunday 25 February sees them tackle the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Bucks have transitioned to a style of play in which they offer up more intensity on defence – though it can take a toll, according to coach Doc Rivers: "We are playing hard now defensively, and you can see that visually. It also has taken stuff out of it."

He added, "We may have to lengthen add one more guy to the rotation if we want them to play hard. We want them to stay fresh cause they're not used to doing it yet, and our goal is to build up that type of intensity with a short rotation for 48 minutes of hard basketball. That's what the playoffs are, but no one's at that point yet, and we're not either."

Midweek action arrives on the mornings of Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 February, with the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons renewing their rivalry, as well as a battle between the Toronto Raptors and the Dallas Mavericks.

Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic has warned his team of the threat offered by the Mavericks: "They are an athletic team and they have multiple players that can do a really good job of touching the paint,” he explained. “You've got to be a team in order to stop that. You've got to have all five guys connected to stop that."
